88, a resident of 1231 Shining Water Lane, Creedmoor died Tuesday, August 18 at Duke Hospice. He was the son of the late Nathaniel Tanner and Goldie Jones Tanner.

He is survived by his wife, Katie Tanner; two daughters, Anna K. Brooks of Creedmoor and Barbara Delois Williams of Durham; two sons, Willie James Tanner of Stem and Steven Demont Tanner of Garner; seven grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

A graveside service (limited to fifty (50) attendees observing Covid-19 guidelines of face masks and social distancing of six feet or more) will be conducted Saturday, August 22 at 1:00 P.M. at Carolina Memorial Gardens. A viewing (following CDC recommendations of no more than ten (10) people in any gathering at any one time) will be held Friday, August 21 from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at Wright Funeral Home.
