William McDowell, 94, of Person Street transitioned on Friday, May 1, 2026 at Granville Health. He was born in Sumpter County, SC to the late Henry and Ada Mae McDowell.

He is survived by his wife, Eunice Moton McDowell; three children: Cheryl Green (Ralph) of Philadelphia, PA, Harriett White (William) of Burlington, and Doanld Welfare of PA; ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12 noon, Saturday, May 9 at Penn Avenue Missionary Baptist Church (125 Penn Avenue Oxford, NC 27565) by Pastor Sandy Smith. Burial will follow in Meadowview Memorial Park. Viewing will be from 5pm to 7pm Friday, May 8 at Wright Funeral Home.
