55, a resident of 116 Daniel Street, died Sunday, December 13 at Duke university Medical Center. he was the son of the late John Frank Black and Emma Lou Watson Black of New Haven, CT. He was a former employee of Grace Federal Solutions and the City of Oxford.

He is survived by his wife, Omegia Overby Black; two daughters, Dominique Cash of New Haven, CT and Tylana Cash of Hartford, CT; two step-children, Jennifer Overby of Oxford and Joe Patterson IV (Jalissa Hall-Patterson) of Durham; two sisters, Mae Anderson (Alvin) and Roberta Black of New Haven, CT; a brother, Frank Black (Latricia) of New Haven, CT; three sister's-in-law, Mary Watley (Isaih), Bertha Mayo and Martha Overby of Oxford; a brother-in-law, Thomas Overby of Oxford; three grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. He was predeceased by three brothers, George Black, Jennie black and Johnny Black.

A graveside service will be conducted Friday, December 18 at 2:00 P.M. at Vernon Hill Baptist Church by Rev. Ellison. A viewing will be held Thursday, December 17 from 3-5PM at Wright Funeral Home. All services will observe Covid-19 safety protocols of Facial covering and social distancing of six feet or more.
