Wayne A. Hammie's Obituary
68, a resident of 123 Sycamore Street, died Sunday, January 21 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill. He was the son of the late Ida B. Hammie.
He is survived by a son, Shelton Hammie of the home; two sisters, Margaret Wooten of Oxford and Lettye Smith of Tucson, Arizona; one brother, Allen C. Hammie of Bronyx, New York; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, January 28 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church by Rev. Lacy L. Joyner. Burial will be in Meadowview Memorial Park. A viewing is scheduled for Saturday, January 27 from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home.
