57, a resident of 405 Ivey Day Road, died Monday, January 29 at Granville Health Systems. He was the son of Annie Beatrice Hawley Parker Strater and the late William Lorenzo Parker. He was an employee of the United States Postal Service and a veteran of the United States Marines. He was a member of First Baptist Church where he served on the Board of Deacons.

He is survived by his wife, Reverend Kathryn "Mona" Dunton Parker; two daughters, Elisia Parker and Camille Parker both of Oxford; and two sisters, Lorraine Ransay of Freehold, New Jersey and Gayzelle Parker of Oxford.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, February 3 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Meadowview Memorial Park. A viewing is scheduled for Friday, February 2 from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home.
