76, a resident of 115 Alston Court, died Monday, Feb. 6 at Granville Health System. She was the daughter of the late Robert Thorpe, Sr. and Maranda Smith Thorpe. She was a member of Penn Avenue Baptist Church.

She is survived by one son, Preston Thorpe of the home; two daughters, Vanessa Smith (Sandy), and Sharon Thorpe both of Oxford; a brother, Rev. Ned Thorpe of Chapel Hill; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and long-time companion and the love of her life, William Lloyd.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Feb. 11 at 2pm at Penn Avenue Baptist Church by Rev. Ned Thorpe. Burial will be in Meadowview Memorial Park. A viewing is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 10 from 4pm-6pm at Wright Funeral Home. Covid-19 protocols of facial coverings and social distancing of six feet or more will be observed.
