81. a resident of 210 Alexander Ave., died Thursday, May 11 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Charles L. Hunter, Sr. and Luvenia Allen Hunter. She was a former employee of the former JFD Electronics and American Tobacco Company.

She is survived by her husband Elijah "Ed" Strater; four children, Alfonzo Hunter, Felicia Pitchford and Levette King all of Oxford and Levern Brandon of Alton, VA; two sisters, Shirley Cheatham and Dorothy Puryear both of Oxford; two brothers, Harry Hunter of Raleigh and Clarence Hunter of Goldsboro; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, May 16 at 2pm at Wright Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. George E. Green. Burial will be in Cheatham Cemetery. A viewing is scheduled for Monday, May 15 from 5pm-7pm at the funeral home. Covid-19 protocols of facial coverings and social distancing of six feet or more will be required.
