62, husband of Oxford native, Charlotte Jones Wilson, died this morning (July 4) at their home in Durham. He was the son of the late Vernon Wilson, Sr. and Bernice Rice Wilson of Asheville. He was a former employee of Duke University Hospital and after retirement a Postal Carrier.

Other survivors include his two daughters, Precious Wilson Pulley (Randy) of Richmond, VA and Tiffany Wilson of Washington, DC; his son, Vernon Omar Wilson of Queens, NY; and his infant granddaughter, Rhyan Pulley.

Pastor Andy Thompson will conduct funeral services Sunday, July 9 at 4:30 pm at World Overcomers Christian Church, 2933 S. Miami Blvd in Durham. A viewing is scheduled to begin at 3pm at the church on Sunday July 9. On Tuesday, July 11 at 3:30 PM  Senior Pastor Tim Timberlake formerly of Christian Faith Center in Creedmoor, NC, now Senior Pastor of Celebration Church in Jacksonville, FL, will conduct services at Nazareth First Missionary Baptist Church in Asheville (145 Pine Street). A viewing will begin at 2:30 PM. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery, 1373 Sweeten Creek Road, Asheville, NC.
