73, a resident of 5166 Forest View Heights Road, died Monday, May 15 at Duke University Hospital. He was the son of the late Ellis T. Cozart, Sr. and Serena Cozart Cozart. He was a retired employee of CertainTeed Corp.

He is survived by his wife, Lois Mae Daniel Cozart ; one son, Thomas Cozart, Jr. (Angela) of Greensboro; a grandson, Darrius Cozart of Plainsboro Township, NJ; four sisters, Brenda C. Barnes (Larry), of Durham, Dr. Elva C. Cooper of Charlotte, Angela C. Green (James) of Oxford and Lisa C. Taylor (Roderick) of Henderson; four brothers, Rev. Dr. Ellis T. Cozart, Jr. (Martha) of Goldsboro, Rev. William S. Cozart (Julia) of Durham, Rev. Dr. Tony Cozart (Jackie) of Oxford and Rev. Anthony E. Cozart, Sr. (Lisa) of Greensboro.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, May 23 at 2pm at Belton Creek Baptist Church by Rev. Andre Gilliam and Rev. Anthony Cozart. Burial will be in the church cemetery. It is requested that Covid-19 protocols of facial coverings and social distancing of six feet or more be observed. A viewing has been scheduled for Monday, May 22 from 5pm-7pm at Wright Funeral Home.
