40, a resident of 9224 Chatham Grove Lane in N. Chesterfield, VA, died Monday, Sept. 5 at St. Frances Medical Center in Midlothian, VA. He was the son of Samuel P. Hayes and Rev. Dr. Maricia Smith Hayes.

Other survivors include two daughters, DeAndra Stephanie Hayes and Keyona Andrea Hayes both of Richmond, VA.

Stephone was known near and far in the entertainment arena. His passion was music. He served as lead vocalist in several groups leading him to perform in Go-Go Bands in Atlanta, Washington, DC and the Richmond area. He worked in the Richmond City Public School System with the Dominion Behavioral Program. He owened and operated a Tee-Shirt Company and was a self-employed truck driver.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, Sept. 11 at 2:00 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Kenneth Bowman Burton, Jr. Burial will be in the Red Bud Baptist Church cemetery.
