61, a native of Granville County died Wednesday, March 22 in Greenville Memorial Hospital in Greenville, South Carolina.  He was the son of the late Charles Hicks and Nellie Hunter Hicks. He was a veteran of the United States Army.

He is survived by two daughters, Charlene Wright of Stovall, NC and Cameron Royster of Creedmoor, NC; three sisters, Juanita Wilkerson and Angela Bowden both of Oxford and Patricia Cameron of Durham; one brother, Charles Hicks of Richmond, VA; and four grandchildren.

Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday, March 29 at 2pm at Big Zion AME Church by Rev. Jasper Cameron. Covid-19 protocols of facial coverings and social distancing of six feet or more will be observed.
