88, a resident of 20 Big Ruin Creek Lane, died Monday, August 14 at his home. He was the son of the late Nathan Rice and Hattie Cooper Rice. He was a self-employed logger.

He is survived by twelve children, Rev. Mary Catlette, Rev. Mary Webb. Rev. Mattie Price, Hessie Cheek, Gloria Rice-Lewis, Rev. Lillie Hawkins, Gracie Carter, Lesia Jones, Brunetta Rice, Rev. Seamon Rice, Jr., Rev. Thomas Rice all of Henderson, and Calvin Rice of Merced, CA; thirty-five grandchildren; sixty-one great grandchildren; and thirty-five great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, August 18 at 11:00 A.M. at Big Ruin Creek Baptist Church by Rev. Charles Burwell. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to services (10:00 A.M.) at the church. A viewing is scheduled for Thursday, August 17 from 11:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M. at Wright Funeral Home.
