Sarah Lee Royster, 83, of Mountain Road, transitioned on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at Brantwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Granville County to the late Elizabeth Betty Bullock Evans and John H. Evans, Sr.

She is survived by her husband, William Royster; two sons: Victor Ward (Janice) and Phillip Ward both of Henderson, one grandson she raised as her own, Phillip Antwan Ward of Wilton; one brother, John Evans of Oxford; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11am, Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Wright Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Ervin Davis III, presiding and Pastor Johnnie White, Sr. Eulogist. Burial will follow in Meadowview Memorial Park. Viewing will be from 4pm to 6pm, Friday, August 28 at Wright Funeral Home.
