95, a resident of 2627 Mountain Creek Road, transitioned Tuesday, May 20 at the home of her daughter, in Rocky Mount. She was the daughter of the late Rev. W. A. Blackwell and Rachel Brame Blackwell. She was a member of New Grassy Creek Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Rachel Blackwell Mills (Larry Mills) of Rocky Mount; a sister, Dorothy Purdie of Winston-Salem; three grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, May 26 at 1:00 p.m. at New Grassy Creek Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A viewing has been scheduled for Sunday, May 25 from 4pm-6pm at Wright Funeral Home.
