77, a resident of 72 N. Cobble Creek Dr., died Thursday, Aug. 24 at Maria Parham Health System. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Samuel Johnson and Dorothy Mae Burton Johnson. She was a retired employee of The Star Ledger Newspaper in Newark, NJ.

She is survived by a son, Eugene DeShonn Watkins of Henderson; a grandson, Darius Eugene Watkins of Henderson; a great granddaughter, Kiara Watkins of Warrenton; a sister-in-love, Elaine Johnson; two nieces, Aimee' Alston of Henderson and Jereva Johnson of Winston-Salem; and a nephew, Jerome "Tony" Johnson (Brittany) of Durham.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, August 29 at 12:00 Noon at Calvary Temple Holy Church, 315 Kitchen Ave., Henderson, NC by Elder Clevon Maye, Jr. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

A viewing has been scheduled for Monday, Aug. 28 from 4pm until 6pm at Wright Funeral Home. (Mask mandatory)
