67, a resident of 3009 Bent Tree Dr., Oxford, transitioned Sunday, Oct. 20 at Hospice House in Smithfield. She was the daughter of Dorothy Pratt Burt and the late Carl Burt, Jr. She was a retired employee of John Umstead Hospital.

She is survived by her husband Willie Yates; two sons, Scottie Reed (Yolanda) of Durham and Donald Reed of Creedmoor; one sister, Gayle Wright of Oxford; two brothers, James Burt and Charles Burt both of Creedmoor; three grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, October 24 at 2pm at Union Chapel Baptist Church by Bishop Stephen Wilson. Burial will be in Carolina Memorial Gardens. A viewing has been scheduled for Wednesday, October 23 from 5pm-7pm at Wright Funeral Home.
