78, a resident of 3592 Silver Creek Lane, died Sunday, Oct. 29 at Universal Healthcare. She was the daughter of the late Ernest Downey, Sr. and Ruthie Mae Allen. She was the widow of Johnnie Green.

She was a retired thirty-year employee of John Umstead Hospital and a member of Belton Creek Baptist Church where she was a member of the senior choir.

She is survived by two daughters, Phyllis White(Robert) of the home and Margaret Royster(Gary) of Butner; four sisters, Yvonne Giles of Louisburg, Audrey Davis of Pasadena, TX, Doris Pritchard and Shirley Gregory both of Camden, NJ; a brother, Ernest Downey, Jr. also of Camden; six grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; two special nieces, Marion Chrisp and Catherine Harris.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, Nov. 2 at 2:00 P.M. at Belton Creek Baptist Church by Rev. Dr. Tony Cozart. Burial will be in Belton Creek Baptist Church cemetery.
