67, a resident of 119 Hamlett Road, Milton, NC, died Tuesday, Oct. 12 at Person Memorial Hospital in Roxboro. He was the son of the late Nathaniel Lee "Smitty" Smith and Barbara Cotten Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Cathy Findley Ward; four sons, Bruce N. Smith and Jeron Smith (Darline) both of Raleigh, Wondell Downey, Sr.(Stacey) of Maryland and Michael Smith (Stephanie) of Creedmoor; four daughters, Tamatha Ward (Ira), Aquesta Ward (Spencer), Angela Ward and Sophia Ward Lunsford (James) all of Roxboro; three sisters, Barbara "Robin" Anderson, Valerie Ragland (Napolean) both of Stovall, and Fayecha Smith of Oxford; one brother, Richard Smith (Alycia) of Greensboro; and twenty grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, Oct. 17 at 2pm on the grounds of Wright Funeral Home by Bishop Garland Heggie. A viewing is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 16 from 1pm-3pm at Wright Funeral Home.
