71, a resident of 1007 Long Leaf Pine Place, Mebane, died Monday, August 3 at his home. He was the son of the late Floyd Mims and Ada Foster Mims of Durham County. He was a Sheetrock Specialist.

He is survived by his wife, Pauline "Polly" Williamson Mims; a daughter, Alicia Mims of Cary; two sons, Robert Mims, Jr. of Durham, and Corey Mims of Mebane; two brothers, Anthony D. Mims of Washington, DC,  and Floyd K. Mims of Indiana; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

A graveside service (limited to fifty attendees (50) selected by the family and observing Covid-19 guidelines of Face Mask and social distancing of six feet or more) will be conducted Thursday, August 6 at 11:00 A.M. at Meadowview Memorial Park. A viewing (following CDC guidelines of not more than ten (10) people at any gathering at any one time with face mask and social gathering protocol) will be conducted Wednesday, August 5 from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at Wright Funeral Home.
