76, a resident of 129 E. Boulder Rd., Henderson, transitioned Friday, Sept. 20 at Duke Medical Center Emergency Room. She was the daughter of the late John Robert Burwell and Lillian Estell Henderson Burwell. She was a licensed CNA.

She is survived by two daughters, Angela Hawkins of Oxford and Roylena Pulliam of Henderson; one son, George E. Hawkins of Columbia, SC; one brother, John Benjamin Burwell of Durham; nineteen grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, Sept. 26 at 1pm at Hardy Grove Baptist Church by Rev. David Bullock, Jr. Burial will be in the John W Burwell Family Cemetery in the Lewis Community. A viewing has been scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 25 from 5pm-7pm at Wright Funeral Home.
