107, died Monday, March 4 at Brantwood Nursing and Convalescent Center. He was a retired farmer and a veteran of World War II. He was the son of the late Daniel Satterfield and Vinnie Bullock Satterfield. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.

He is survived by a son, Willie Owen Satterfield (Alma), of Henderson; and his long-term caregiver and niece, Allerene Thorpe of Oxford; devoted niece, Mildred S. Scott of Oxford; a brother, Johnnie Satterfield of Oxford; three sisters-in-law, Ursaline Vaughn, Lovely Brandon, and Ernestine Peace all of Oxford; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; a number of great-great grandchildren; a vast number of other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Gwendolyn Ann Showers; a grandson, Derrick Showers; three brothers and four sisters-in-law, Charlie Satterfield (Queen Esther), George Thomas Satterfield (Mary Frances), Floyd Satterfield (Lillian), and Arletha Satterfield.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 9 at 2:00 P.M. at Oak Grove Baptist Church by Rev. Dr. Charles Bullock. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A viewing is scheduled for Friday, March 8 from 11:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M. at Wright Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors at the home of his son, Willie Owen Satterfield, 916 Gay Street in Henderson.
