68, a resident 0f 405 Mimosa Street, died Sunday, January 17 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Avrie Taylor and James Norman Hutcherson. She was a member of the last graduating class of the former Mary Potter High School in 1972.
She is survived by two sons, Erik Taylor (Tammy) of Oxford, and Michael Taylor (Kristie) of Snellville, GA; four grandchildren, Malik Taylor, Markell Taylor, Nyla Taylor and Kennedi Taylor; three bonus grandchildren she loved as her own, Alexis Lowery, TaLeah Lowery and Imani Lowery; two brothers, James Wortham (Margaret) and Terrence Wilson (Regina) both of Oxford; four sisters, Iris Dickerson of Sourthern Pines, Vivian Holmes and Elaine Clowers both of Oxford and Bonita Cannady of GA; an uncle, Elbert "EC" Taylor of Oxford; five aunts, Emma Williams, Annie Taylor, Etta Petty, and Joyce McEachearn all of Oxford and Barbara Hickory of Reno, NV; a dear best friend, Alfred Brooks of Herndon, VA; a special brother, William "Skip" Blackwell of Jacksonville, FL; her best friend, Brenda Taylor; and a former daughter-in-law, Kimberly Taylor.
She was predeceased by two sister, Iris Taylor and Ruby Winston; a brother, Leander Giles Wortham; and a nephew, Jason Taylor.
A graveside service will be conducted Sunday, January 24 at 2:00 P.M. at Meadowview Memorial Park by Rev. Lacy L. Joyner, Rev. Edward Davis, Rev. Hilda Cordell and Apostle Keith Basnight. A viewing will be held Saturday, January 23 from 4-6 P.M. at Wright Funeral Home.
