89, a native of Franklin County, North Carolina. died Saturday, March 31 in Bowie, Maryland. She was the daughter of the late David Fogg and Elizabeth Jones Fogg. She was the loving wife of Silas Harris who preceded her in death in 2006.
She was a member of Mitchell Missionary Baptist Church in Louisburg, North Carolina. After completing her education in the North Carolina public school system, she graduated from Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina with a Bachelor's degree in Education and gained employment with the Franklin County School System retiring after over thirty years of service. While serving as an Elementary School Teacher, she continued her education and received her Master's degree in Education from North Carolina Central University in Durham, North Carolina.
Mildred leaves to cherish her memories three devoted nieces, Carolyn Plummer of Temple Hill, MD, Hattie Plummer of Baltimore, MD and Marjorie Puryear of Oxford, NC; one brother-in-law, Glenolden Plummer of Temple Hills, MD; one sister-in-law, Cynthia H. Anderson, Oxford, NC; a step-brother, John Wesley Plummer of Hampton, VA; great nieces, Karen Shields (Michael) of Laurel, MD, Antoinette Ready (Mark) of Columbia, MD, Tracy Kenny (Richard) of Abingdon, MD and Kimberly Pennington of Baltimore, MD; two step-children, Sandra Rivers and Silas D. Harris III both of Statesville, NC; two god-children, Anthony Fuller and Pamela Fuller both of Henderson, NC.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 7, at 11:00 A.M. at Mitchell Missionary Baptist Church, 243 Lake View Road, Louisburg, NC by Reverend Dr. Daniel W. Lilly, Jr. Burial will be in Meadowview Memorial Park, US Highway 15 North, Oxford, NC. The family will received friends one hour prior to the service at the church. A viewing is scheduled Friday, April 6, from 1:00 to 6:00 P.M. at Wright Funeral Home.
