61, a resident of 1300 Goshen Street, transitioned Saturday, Feb, 22 at Duke University Medical Center. He was the son of the late Willie Thomas Harris, Sr. and Emma Yancey Harris. He was a former fifteen-year employee of Revlon. He was a member of New Hope Granville Baptist Church.

He is survived by a son, Maurice Harris, Jr. of Oxford and two step-children, Aleah Evans (Devon) and Justin Harris both of Oxford; five sisters, Lena Oakley, Ann Williams, Pearlistine Harris and Debbie Lyon all of Oxford and Wanda Gipson of Vero Beach, FL; two brothers, Willie T. Harris, Jr and Robert Chavis both of Oxford and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 1 at 2pm at New Hope Granville Baptist Church by Rev. James Isaac III. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A viewing will be held Friday, February 28 from 4pm-6pm at Wright Funeral Home.
