34, a resident of 6695 Poplar Creek Road, died Thursday, July 7 from injuries received in an auto accident. He was the son of Anita Pettiford Perry and Ricky Cates, Sr. who survive.

Other survivors include a sister, Keisha Cates; six brothers, Charles Pettiford, Monta Cates, Ervin Cofield, Andre Perry (LaTasha), Andrew Cates and Willie Perry, Jr.; Six aunts, Joanne Glover, Christine Harris (John), Janet Green (Corey), Ella Cash, Antonia Perry, and Joanne Allen; seven uncles Bruce Pettiford (Wanda), Douglas Pettiford, Larry Cates, Otis Perry (Electia), Tommy Hunt, Mark Hunt, and Pete Barnes; a special friend, Desire Young; three bonus children, Saniya Young, Jamonte Young and Carly Fields. He was preceded in death by his step-father who raised him, Willie Perry, Sr.; paternal grandparents, Pearl Cates, Mark Hunt and Mary Helen Hunt; maternal grandparents, Oscar Pettiford and Mary Lee Pettiford; two brothers, Ricky Cates and Darius Cates; three uncles, Terry Pettiford-Barnes, Larry Pettiford and Charles Pettiford; and one aunt, Terry Barnes.

Rev. Ronnie Green will conduct a Memorial service Wednesday, July 13 at 2pm of the grounds of Wright Funeral Home.
