Mary Ruth Ragland Norwood, of Peace Street, transitioned, Friday, February 20, 2026 at her residence. She was born in Granville County to the late Alfonza and Geneva Ragland.

She is survived by six children: Mary N. Moyer of Oxford, Jimmie L. Norwood (Avis) of Butner, Bernice Lunsford (William) of Oxford, Theresa Sullivan (Willie) of Mt. Vernon, NY, Alfonzo Norwood of the home, and Margaret Kersey of Durham; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and three godchildren: Shirley Lewis, Rev. James Marrow, and Bobby White all of Oxford.

Funeral service will be conducted at 1pm, Sunday, March 1, 2026 at Amazing Grace Ministry (4200 Shock Overton Rd. Oxford, NC 27565). Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm, Saturday, February 28 at Wright Funeral Home Chapel.
