74, the daughter of the late Simon Kindsbury and Bettie Thorpe Kingsbury, died Thursday, December 20, 2018 in Newark, NJ.

She grew up in Newark and was a 1960 graduate of Arts High School. She was married to the late William McKinley Pettiford. She was a former employee of General Processors, NoNonSence Fashions, and Murdoch Redevelopment Center. She earned a CNA License and before retiring was employed with Newark Liberty International Airport in Newark, NJ.

She is survived by two daughters, Cassandra "Kim" Pettiford of Oxford and Varsha R. Pettiford of Newark, NJ; her mother, Bettie T. Kingsbury of Oxford; three brothers, William Fields of Newark, NJ, Freddie Wright of Franklinton, and Carl Roberts of Pittsburg, PA; three sisters, Mary Wright of Elizabeth, NJ, Carletta Roberts of Durham, and Felicia Overby of Newark, NJ; and four grandchildren.

A Memorial service will be held Saturday, April 27 at 2:00 P.M. at Wright Funeral Home by Bishop James E. Daniel, assisted by Minister Sharron Bass.
