86, a resident of 1004 West D Street, Butner, died Thursday, May 6 at Duke Regional Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Ervin Moss and Iva Thompson Moss. She was a thirty-one year retired employee of John Umstead Hospital. She was a graduate of the former G. C. Hawley High School.

At an early age she joined Greenfield Baptist Church where she would serve in the Senior Choir, Pastor's Aide Committee and as Church Historian.

She is survived by a sister, Frances Moss Lawrence (Harold) and a brother, Harry Moss both of the home; Special daughters, Pamela Henderson (Michael), Unetha Moss, Cathy Ray and Susan Tanner; adopted son, Rev. Richard Jackson; spiritual daughter, Etta Heard; an uncle, Weldon Thompson of S.C.; a sister-in-law, Marie L. Moss; best friend, Nan Roberts; a number of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and caring friends.

A graveside service will be conducted Wednesday, May 12 at Carolina Memorial Gardens by Rev. Norman Cooper. A viewing is scheduled for Tuesday. May 11 from 4pm-6pm at Wright Funeral Home. All services will observe Covid-19 guidelines of facial coverings and social distancing of six feet or more.
