Mack "Fruit Man" Puryear, 72, of Gela Road, transitioned on Friday, September 11, 2026 at his residence. He was born in Granville County to the late John and Elizabeth Hawley Puryear.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 3pm, Sunday, September 20, 2026, at New Hope Granville Missionary Baptist Church (5643 Old Roxboro Rd, Oxford, NC 27565) by Rev. James Isaac, III. Interment will follow in Meadowview Memorial Park. Viewing will be from 5pm to 7pm, Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Wright Funeral Home.

He is survived by a daughter, Celcia Puryear; stepson, William Lamont Cash; and one brother, Joseph Puryear, Sr. all of Oxford and three grandchildren.
