78, a resident of 206 Lynn Bank Estates Road, died Wednesday, December 9 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Johnnie Blackwell and Ruth Perry Blackwell Peace. She was the widow of the late William Hawley.

She is survived by three daughters, Pamela Hodge and Cynthia Hunt (Michael) both of Creedmoor and Diane Wilkerson of Kittrell; two sons, William Hawley and Harvey Hawley both of Durham; four sisters, Mamie Perry, Shirley Lewis, Mable Williams and Priscilla Lemay all of Oxford; four brothers, Johnnie Blackwell (Daphine) of Elizabeth City, Garland Peace (Lucille) of Upper Marlboro, MD, Grant Peace, Jr. (Peggy) and Leonard Peace (Shirley) both of Oxford; three aunts, Dorothy Pyrde of Fayetteville, Sarah Lee Downey and Ida Mae Burt both of Oxford; a sister-in-law, Sarah Venable (Charlie) of Oxford; a brother-in-law, Eddie Lee Marable of Oxford; devoted and caring friends, Betty Hawkins and Mozella Harris both of Henderson; sixteen grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a grandson, Kyron Davis; two sisters, Ida Blackwell and Mary Lee Pettiford; and her step-father, Grant Peace, Sr.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, December 13 at 3:00 P.M. at Wright Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Melvin Blackwell. Burial will be in the Hawley-Allen Family cemetery in Rougemont. A viewing is scheduled for Saturday, December 12 from 1-3 PM at Wright Funeral Home. Chapel services are limited to fifty attendees selected by the family. All services will observe Covid-19 guides of face coverings and social distancing of sex feet or more. No one with a body temperature of 100 or above will not be admitted.
