69, a resident of 5081 Old Route 75, died Tuesday, November 7 at Universal Healthcare. She was the daughter of the late James Roosevelt Allen and Daisy Gregory Allen.

She was educated in the Granville County School system, graduating from the former G. C. Hawley High School. She made a career out of helping others and was a retired employee of Murdoch Center. She was a life-long faithful member of Belton Creek Baptist Church. She was also a member of the gospel chorus at Tally Ho Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of forty-nine years, John H. Evans, Jr.; three sisters, Pearley R. Bullock (Willie) of Stem, NC, Annie M. Jameson of Jamaica, NY and Virginia Thorpe of New York, NY; a sister-in-law, Sarah L. Royster (William) of Oxford; a vast number of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, November 11 at 1:00 P.M. at Belton Creek Baptist Church by Rev. William Cozart, Rev. Moses Fletcher and Rev. Janice D. Ward. Burial will be in Meadowview Memorial Park. A viewiing is scheduled for Friday, November 10 from 11:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M. at Wright Funeral Home.
