Obituary

67, a resident of 115 Hillsboro Street, Roxboro, died Wednesday, October 24 at PruittHealth in Raleigh. He was the son of the late Louis Dickens and Matina Burton Dickens. He was a former employee with the United Postal Service and a veteran of the United States Army.

He is survived by two daughters, Melita Nelson of Roxboro and Terry Morgan of Ashburn, VA; a sister, Rev. Connie Dickens-McCain of Roxboro; two brothers, Franklin Dickens of Timberlake and Leon Dickens of Sedalia; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, October 26 at 11:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church of Roxboro by Rev. Connie Dickens-McCain. Burial will be in Peace Memorial Gardens. Mr. Dickens will lie-in-state one hour prior to services at the church.
