Lessie Cooley Hicks, 94, of Hester Road, Creedmoor, transitioned on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Duke Regional Hospital in Durham. She was born in Granville County to the late George and Luvenia Parker Cooley.

She is survived by three daughters, Deborah Hicks Hayes of Greensboro, Beverly Carolyn Johnson of Youngsville and Gloria Hicks Moss (Donnie) of Creedmoor; one son, Donald Cameron Hicks (Sherri) of Strongsville, OH; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12pm, Saturday, August 22, at Synama Grove Baptist Church by Rev. Randolph Moten. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A viewing is scheduled for Friday, August 21 from 5pm-7pm at the funeral home.
