Obituary

100, a resident of 441 Pearl Street in Henderson, died Monday, August 22 at his home. He was married to the late Jennie E. McDougle for seventy years.He was a retired North Carolina Agricultural Extension Agent.

He was a graduate of the former Henderson Institute and also a graduate of A & T State University in Greensboro. He was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. He worked for several years as Project Director of HUD in Shelby County, North Carolina. In 1950 he was among the few agriculture agents who hosted a weekly radio show.

He is survived by a son, Leon J. McDougle, Jr. (Renee) of Greensboro; a daughter, Grace M. Chavious of Hillsborough; two grandsons, Darren McDougle and Zaquan McDougle both of Greensboro; and one great granddaughter, Paige McDougle also of Greensboro. He was also predeceased by a son-in-law, Milton Chavious.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, August 27 at 1:00 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors Saturday, one hour prior to services at Wright Funeral Home, 3724 Salem Rd., Oxford, NC.
