Kenneth Edward Crews, 70, of Thollie Green Rd., Stem, transitioned on Monday, April 6, 2026 at Duke Regional Hospital in Durham. He was born in Granville County to the late Marie Crews and W.A. Meadows. He was a retired Chief Fire Marshall in Durham and lastly served as head security at the Durham Performing Arts Center.

He is survived by two daughters: Antha Crews of Charlotte and Marla Crews of Stem; one grandson, Dax Richardson of Stem; two sisters: Linda Meadows and Mary Frances Meadows both of Durham; seven brothers: James Meadows (Angela) of Butner, Louis Meadows (Lynkita) of Oxford, William "Tony" Crews of Butner, Ron Robertson (Kesha) of Creedmoor, Roy Crews (Rita) of Butner, Ricky Crews (Angela) of Creedmoor and Thomas "Pop" Crews (Kathy) of Portland, OR.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1pm, Monday, April 13, 2026 at Wright Funeral Home Chapel by Reverend Christopher Coleman. Burial will follow in South Granville Memorial Gardens in Stem. Viewing will be at the chapel one hour prior to the service.
