59, a resident of 5116 Stone Lane, transitioned Tuesday, Sept. 24 at her home. She was the daughter of Earnest Hanible and the late Margaret Wilson Hanible. She was a Child Care Consultant with the Department of Health & Human Services.

A lifelong leaner, education was a cornerstone of her life. She was a graduate of Western Harnett High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from North Carolina Central University. Her dedication to her career led her to a thirty-year career as a Child Care Consultant with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Child Care, Regulatory Service Section. In this pivotal role she assessed and collaborated with childcare facilities, ensuring high-quality, safe, and healthy environments for children. She left an indelible mark on the lives of many.

She is survived by her husband, Roosevelt LaMar Greenwood; one son, Roosevelt Jaylon Greenwood III of Durham; her father, Earnest Hanible, Sr. (Lenell) of Laurel, MD; three brothers, Earnest Hanible, Jr. (Keicha) of Virginia, Anthony Hanible of Laurel, MD and Darren Hanible of Maryland; aunts, Loretta Coleman (Thomas) and Pamela Scott both of Scottsburg, VA, Lois Hall and Louise Boyd both of Wilmington, NC and Wanda Oliver of Spring Lake, NC; uncles, Hillard Wilson of Washington, DC and Edward Wilson (Robin) of Spring Lake; a loving mother-in-law, Shirley Parker Greenwoods of Oxford, NC; a vast number of nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services were be conducted Saturday, Sept. 28 at 11am at Wright Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Floyd Greenwood presiding.. Burial was in Ilong Baptist Church cemetery. A viewing was held one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
