62,  a resident of 8422 Charlie Stovall Rd., died Sunday, September 13 at Duke Medical Center. He was the son of the late Deacon Johnnie Edward Eaton and Rev. Mary Meadows Eaton. He was a veteran of the United States Army, and a former employee of John Umstead Hospital.

He is survived by his wife, Joanne Fields Eaton; three sons, Johnnie Jerel Eaton (Shaketah) and Leonard Recardo Eaton (Amia) both of Durham and Jonathan Lamar Eaton of Oxford; a daughter, Kristina Griffin of Raleigh; four sisters, Gloria E. Oden (Dr. Rodger) of Chicago, IL, Captain Sandra Eaton and Gladys Hawley (Colonel Lee) both of Oxford and Sylvia Jefferson of Manson; and six grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted Wednesday, September 16 at 11:00 A.M. at Olive Grove Baptist Church cemetery by Rev. Johnnie White. A viewing is scheduled for Tuesday, September 15 from 12:00 until 2:00 P.M. at Wright Funeral Home. All services will observe Covid-19 guidelines of face coverings and social distancing of six feet or more.
