John Ivey Watson, 64, of 50 McNair Circle, transitioned on Monday, May 5, 2025 at his residence in Henderson. He was born in Warren County to the late James Edward Watson, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Boyd Watson.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1 pm, Tuesday, May 13 at Spring Street Missionary Baptist Church, 511 Orange St, Henderson, NC 27536. No viewing is planned.

He is survived by a son, Quenton Sledge of Norlina; two sisters: Delthine Watson of Henderson and Mary Ragland (William) of Burlington; two brothers Clarence Watson of Henderson and Norman Wyche of Fort Worth, TX.

The family is receiving friends at the residence.
