James Alfred Moseley, Sr., 89, a resident of 114 Salem Road, transitioned Thursday, August 22 at Duke Hock Family Pavilion in Durham. He was the first child born to the late John Thomas Moseley, Jr. and Emma Estelle (Mosley) Moseley in Saxe, VA.

He retired in 1993 after 33 years, from Granville County Schools as teacher and coach. In 1994 he retired from the Army and NC National Guard after 22 years, and from Central Children's Home as Associate Director in 2005 after 10 years of service.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Wright Moseley; his children: James A. Moseley, Jr., Charlotte Nichelle Moseley-Harris, and Rodney Giles Moseley all of Oxford; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, August 28 at 11am at First Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Meadowview Memorial Park. A viewing is scheduled for Tuesday, August 27 from 5pm-7pm at Wright Funeral Home. Facial Masks are not required, but HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
