81, a resident of 221 Carroll Town Road in Macon, died Tuesday, Sept. 6 at his home. He was the son of the late James "Jack" Jordan and Creola Peace Jordan of Granville County.
He is survived by four children, Jan Yvette Jordan Bunting (Gerald), James Patrick Jordan (Sylvia Richardson), Lisa Francine Jordan and Edwin Thomas Jordan (Kenitra-deceased); six siblings, Lethia Jordan Johnson (Elgin-deceased), Rosalyn Jordan Terry (Thomas-deceased), Catherine Jordan Clarke (Leroy), Edwin Peace Jordan (Essie), Carrye Jordan Tyler (Howard) and Bernice Jordan Hedgepeth (Vincent); and four grandchildren.
He was a graduate of the former Mary Potter Academy. He was a graduated from North Carolina Central in Durham with a B.S. degree in Biology, and began his career aas a teacher. he would rise to Assistant Superintendant of Warren County School. He also held a M.A. Ed. in Administration and an Ed. S. degree in Advanced Administration both from East Carolina University.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, Sept. 12 at 11am at Penn Avenue Baptist Church by Rev. Willie S. Darby. Burial will be in J. T. Peace Memorial Gardens. The family will receive visitors one hour before services at the church. A viewing is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 11 from 11am until 5pm at Wright Funeral Home.
