James Lester Burt, 66, of Creedmoor, transitioned on December 10, 2025 at Duke Reginal Hospital in Durham. He was born in Durham County to Dorothy Praitt Burt and the late Carl Burt Jr.

He is survived by a daughter, Tomica Satterwhite Thomas of Oxford; his mother, Dorothy Burt of Creedmoor; one sister, Gayle Wright of Oxford and one brother, Charles Burt of Creedmoor.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm, Monday, December 15 at Wright Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Carolina Memorial Gardens in Creedmoor. Viewing will be from 5pm to 7pm, Sunday, December 14 at Wright Funeral Home.
