78, a resident of 213 Granville Street, died Thursday, Jan. 2 at Durham Regional Hospital. He was the son of the late Herman King and Margaret King.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Tharrington-King; a son and daughter, Thomas Tharrington and Irene Tharrington both of Oxford; a sister, Rosemary Hunter of Selma; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 18 at 1:00 P.M. at Belton Creek Missionary Baptist Church by Rev. Andre F. Gilliard.
