Henton Morton, Jr, 81, of Kindlewood Dr, Durham, transitioned on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at Duke Hock Family Pavilion in Durham. He was born in Granville County to the late Henton Morton, Sr and Mary Alice Overby Morton. He was a retired New York City Transportation Operator.

He is survived by his wife Garia L. James Moore of the home; four children: Henton Morton III (Nadege) of Durham, Cheryl Morton of Baltimore, MD, Pamela L. Valarezo (Mario) of Miami, Fl, and Gregory Morton (Toni) of San Antonio, TX; two sisters: Olivia Edmonds (Willie) of Weston, FL and Gloria Leak (Willie) of Henderson; thirteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm, Friday, August 22, at Wright Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Davis Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery (8587 Grassy Creek Road, Oxford, NC 27565). Viewing will be one hour prior to the service.
