97, a resident of 308 Sycamore Street, died Friday, June 23 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late George Yancey and Estelle Betts Yancey. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by three daughters, Georgia Mae Williams, Janet W. Thorpe and Edna S. Wilkerson all of Oxford; four sons, Alfonza Wilkerson and Robert Lee Wilkerson both of Oxford, Charles L Wilkerson of Hampton, VA and Stanley Wilkerson of Clinton, MD; twenty-one grandchildren; fifty-four great grandchildren; twenty-seven great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Annie Tharrington of Oxford.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, June 29 at 2pm at Wright Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Harold Watkins. Burial will be in the New Corinth Baptist Church cemetery. A viewing has been scheduled for Wednesday, June 28 from 5pm-7pm at Wright Funeral Home. Covid-19 protocols of facial coverings and social distancing of six feet or more will be observed.
