90, a resident of 111 Phocian St., died Wednesday, Aug. 3 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Jimmy Thornton and Lidia Morris Thornton. She was a member of New Hope Granville Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son, Tommy Pettiford; three grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and twelve great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, Aug. 7 at 2pm at First Baptist Church by Rev. James Isaac II. Burial will be in New Hope Granville Baptist Church cemetery. A viewing is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 6 from 4pm-6pm at Wright Funeral Home. All services will observe Covid-19 protocols of facial coverings and social distancing of six feet or more.
