64, a resident of 1007 Glendale Dr., Durham, died Monday, April 1 at his home. He was the son of the late James Nathaniel Downey, Sr. and Bessie Green Downey. He was a retired employee of UNC Hospital at Chapel Hill .

He is survived by a son, Graham Ellis Downey, Jr., of Hillsborough; two brothers, James Nathaniel Downey, Jr. and William Henry Downey both of Durham; four sisters, Pauline Downey of Orange, NJ, Eugenia Dove of Newport News, VA, Lois D. Howard and Patricia D. Vereen both of Durham.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 5 at 2:00 P.M. Holy Temple Church of God in Christ by Pastor James Williams. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A viewing is scheduled for Thursday, April 4 from 11:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M. at Wright Funeral Home.
