86, a resident of 114 Leak Avenue, died Monday, November 9 at her home. She was the Daughter of the late George Parker and Fanny Ashe Parker. She was the widow of the late Leroy Chavis, Sr.

She is survived by six sons, Howard Chavis of Oxford, Theodore Chavis (Addie), James Chavis, George Chavis (Karen), David Chavis (Gayzelle) and Samuel Chavis (Dionne) all of Durham; three daughters, Virginia C. Weaver of Creedmoor, Rose Chavis and Jennette C. Wright both of Oxford; a sister, Rosa P. Booker of Oxford; nineteen grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Howard Chavis (Sallie) of Dover, NJ and Franklin Chavis (Doris) of Newark, NJ; two sisters-in-law, Marjorite Parker of Washington, DC and Barbara Chavis of Henderson, a special and dear friend, Madeline Ragland.

A graveside service will be Conducted Monday, November 16 at 1:00 P.M. in New Light Baptist Church cemetery by Rev, James Hester. Services are limited to fifty people wearing facial coverings and observing social distancing of six or more feet PLEASE. A viewing is scheduled for Sunday, November 15 from 2-4 P.M. at Wright Funeral Home. Covid-19 protocol of face masks and social distancing will be observed.
