73, a resident of 104 Halifax Street, died Sunday, April 9 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh. He was the son of Mary Daye Myers and the late George Wesley Daye. He was a retired employee of Murdoch Developmental Center and the owner of Days Mortuary Transportation Service.

He is survived by his wife, Leslie Hawley Daye; two daughters, Crystal Daye of Oxford and Elizabeth Korgar of Raleigh; and two grandchildren, Ricardo Smith, Jr. of Oxford and Ashleyh Korgar of Raleigh.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 14 at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church by Rev. Omotolokum Omokunde. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens. A viewing is scheduled for Thursday, April 13 from 5pm-7pm at Wright Funeral Home and one hour prior to services at First Baptist Church. Covid-19 protocols of facial coverings and social distancing of six feet or more will be observed at both services.
