Frederick Owen Smith, 53, of 3059 Horseshoe Bend Road, Henderson, transitioned on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at Duke Hock Family Pavilion in Durham. He was born in Durham County to Cora Lee Terry Smith and Franklin Taylor Smith. He worked many years in construction with vast knowledge and skill, especially in remodeling and renovations.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm, Sunday, June 1 at Wright Funeral Home Chapel by Minister Ventress Williams. Family visitation is scheduled for one hour prior to the service.

He is survived by his wife, Rhada Williams Smith; four children: Frederick D. Smith (Brianna) of North Carolina, Amon R. Smith of Henderson, Jordan T. Smith of  Raleigh, and Darha M. Ponder of Kings Mountain; two sisters: Audrey Harris (Willie) of Oxford and Donna McRae (Curtis) of Oxford; and three grandchildren.
