81, a resident of Chester, PA and a native of Oxford, died Tuesday, December 26 in Chester. He was the son of the late William Smith and Nannie Bailey Smith.

He was a Career Counselor in the Philadelphia School District before retirement. He was a veteran of the United States Navy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Smith and Charles Smith.

He is survived by four sons, Steven C. Smith (Vickie), Bruce C. Smith, Vincent Smith, Sr. and Martin L. Smith (Verneane); five siblings, Earl Smith, James Smith, Clara Smith, Bruce Smith and Macquila Smith; twenty-two grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, December 6 at 10:00 a.m. at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 101 Washington Avenue, Twin Oaks, PA. Burial will be in Lawn Croft Cemetery in Linwood, PA. There will be no public viewing. The family will receive visitors at 2340 Douglas Avenue, Aston, PA 19014. Arrangements are by Earl L. Foster Funeral Home in Chester, PA (610)874-2877.
